Saffron can effectively cool any drink or dish that it is mixed with. Just a pinch of this spice can not only add flavor but also make it tastier. It can also be added in mango shakes lime juice or even regular glass of milk.

Historically saffron tea has been to treat depression. Ingesting large amounts of the tea and spice is known to cause feeling of happiness and joy.

In traditional Chinese system, saffron has been used to improve blood circulation and cure bruises. This spice can also lower blood cholesterol and triglycerides in the body. This in turn helps in the treatment of atherosclerosis and arthritis.

Summer also brings along eye infection due to the heat and dust around. Safranal, a constituent of saffron exhibits high antioxidant and free radical scavenging activity. Studies show that saffron soothes eyes and is an effectual weapon to prevent age-related macular degeneration.

Good news for students:
Mixing a pinch of saffron can also act as a good memory enhancer. Whenever stressed, a shake with saffron in it can also soothe stomach aches.
