With the increase in the intake of junk food, everyone has become over conscious to cut down on calories and live a healthier life. Following foods will help you keep your weight in check and curb your food craving.

1. Oatmeal
Oats are low on calories and high on fiber. The soluble and insoluble fibers in oats helps in absorbing water which expands and keeps the belly fuller for longer time. The body digests and absorbs oats slowly, thus keeping hunger at bay and we do not crave for other snacks. It also helps in reducing cholesterol level.

2. Green Tea
The phytonutrient Epigallocatechin Gallate present in green tea helps in raising the level of the hormone cholecystokinin which creates a feeling of saturation and prevents unhealthy hogging. The glucose is prevented from flowing into fat cells by the catechins present in green tea thereby preventing blood sugar levels from rising, and this controls hunger. Green tea also has high level of natural antioxidants with powerful anti-inflammatory properties that helps reduce the risk of tumors and cancer. It helps in weight loss as well.

3.Coffee
Coffee is a great appetite suppressant. The caffeine and its high level of antioxidants present in coffee help in curbing hunger. Cut out the sugar and cream in coffee if you are looking to lose weight. But it must be consumed in moderately.

4.Salads
There’s nothing like having a bowl full of fresh salad before every meal as the health benefits of salads are innumerable. The fiber and nutrients in the salad slow down entry of glucose into the blood, thereby subduing your hunger. Include vegetables like red and yellow bell pepper, cabbage, broccoli, lettuce, onions, carrot slices, spinach, and ripe red tomatoes. Salads provides enough nutrients to your body.

5.Apples
Apples act as one of the most effective hunger suppressant fruits. Apples are loaded with pectin and soluble fibers that helps the belly to remain fuller. Apple takes longer time to digest compared to other fruits, and thus signals the brain that hunger has been satiated. It also helps in controlling blood sugar and reducing cholesterol.

6.Water
Last but not the least is water. The health benefits of water are probably beyond imagination because it is one of the important elements of the human body. Hunger cravings can be easily tamed with the help of water. Water also keeps your body hydrated and gives you energy.
