Education: a reason to move out of home.

When the time comes for students to start narrowing down their list of so many colleges to apply to, one issue always presents itself: whether to leave home for newfound independence and go to school out of state, or stay closer to home and reap the benefits of having family close by.
Though it’s all about one’s state of mind, most prefer to move out of home, as this is the time they think is appropriate to free themselves of all the restrictions, rules, conditions they have been subjected to until then.

Though nearby colleges can have it’s own benefits, Beyond that, it is more important to consider things like weather and the setting of the college—city, town, or rural. Being in-state or out is not that important, but what a teenager must look to know is the college location, and how often he/she decides to come home. Though moving out is a great initiative for personal growth, one must keep in mind that that very purpose should be serve d without taking undue advantage of the fact that there isn’t your family to monitor you.
While questions like Should you stay or go are usual,
One should only consider his/her personal wants, needs and situation and then decide. moving out of home might be a necessity while other students might want to see another part of the country. If you’d rather be away but have to stay in-state, then be sure to make the most of your experience. Live on campus if you can afford to and get involved in campus life. Join different clubs and you’re bound to meet folks who have had different experiences and come from other parts of the country or the world. Look into the study abroad program, which may not cost you any more than you are already paying. You can feel far from home while still being able to trot home easily if you need to.
What is important while moving out is to look at things with a different perspective, as also a different view in mind.
Being excited to start on this new journey is normal however what is important is to do your homework beforehand. Remember to make an appointment with the admissions office, take a full tour, eat in the cafeteria, stay overnight if available. In other words, look at this school like you would if it was located many miles from home. This will give you the real picture and you might like what you see!
Moving out is not a choice but also a transition from adolescence to young adulthood. The greatest benefit of moving for education far from home is the growth in confidence from being away from home while in the supportive community of a college or university. Being pushed out of one’s comfort zone, learning how to negotiate through a new location, and doing so together with new classmates can build confidence and independence. You won’t earn credits in self sufficiency but you will come home a more mature, self confident young adult.

Go out there in the new world and explore!
