Why people take drugs?

Just like there are many kinds of drugs available, there are too many reasons for trying them. Mostly people take drugs just for the pleasure they believe they can bring. Often it’s because of peer pressure where someone tried to convince them that drugs would make them feel good or that they’d have a better time.

Some teens believe drugs will help them think better, or stay more active, be more popular or become better athletes. Others are simply curious and believe that one try won’t hurt anyway. Where as many want to fit in and take drugs due to peer pressure.

The state of mind under the influence of drugs takes the person in a different world and as the effect fades out he wants to get in that state of mind again. and that is how the cycle of addiction starts.

Many teens use drugs because they’re depressed due to studies or work load and think drugs will help them escape their problems. The truth is, drugs don’t solve problems they simply hide problems by making us numb. When a drug’s effect wears off, the feelings and problems remain, or even become worse.

The way out of drugs is self realization, there is no other way out of it.
No drug free campaign or any amount of counseling will help to get rid of addiction. It can only be tackled with self realisation. So if you are an addict or you know a victim help them realize what state of mind they are in. That is the least anyone can do for a drug addict.
