Dhaba by Claridges ( DHABA IN MALL )
When it comes to traditional North Indian food, the TRUCK STOPS HERE!
Dhaba (by Claridges) comes with everything synonymous with the archetypal highway eatery – complete with patilas of balti meat and butter chicken, giant tandoors churning out flavoured rotis and tikkas, and servers in traditional Punjabi garb. For the more spirited, our in-house theka is fully stocked, and also offers a range of cocktails, with a never before desi twist.
Twenty nine years after establishing the iconic Dhaba inside the hotel, Claridges is set to recreate the same magic again – but with a twist. The Claridges has now brought this unique dining experience outside the hotel premises, presenting the quintessential Dhaba in a lighter and more fun ambiance.
Dhaba by Claridges has been unveiled in DLF Place, Saket and DLF Cyber Hub, Gurgaon to cater to a younger audience, who do not frequent five-star hotels and prefer to hang out at more casual haunts that serve great food. The menu, crafted especially by Chef Ravi Saxena, is divided into three parts – tawa, tandoor and patila, and includes typical rustic dishes like Kanastari Baingan (Baingan ka Bharta served in a copper canister), Dhaba Chilli Chicken, Balti Meat and Amritasari Tawa Chaap. The restaurant also serves Indian street food like Vada Pao, Keema Pao, Pao Bhaji and Bun Omelette between 3:30pm and 7pm, complete with cutting chai, for those looking for a mid meal snack. Dhaba by Claridges doesn’t just have a bar – it has a complete Theka, which apart from being well-stocked with IMFL and imported liquor, also boasts of signature cocktails – speciality tharras which come in actual Pauva bottles!
A meal here is rounded off with Desi Paan made by the legendary Panditji, whose shop outside The Claridges Hotel is as iconic as the hotel itself.
Intriguing kitsch elements come together to recreate the ambiance of a signature highway eatery – nalka chandeliers, nimbu-mirchi lights, vintage Bollywood posters, rustic interiors, truck art elements and an actual truck that you can enjoy your meal on – all enhanced with the masala of Bollywood music. And if you stick around long enough, you may also witness the staff breaking into a dance when the song of the month comes on!
