Career vs love.

Nov 19, 2014

“When I’m going to grow up, I want to be wealthy” “I’m going to grow up to be a pilot” “I want to fall in love and all my world is going to revolve around that one person” “love is all I need to survive”.

Sure, we have all said if not the exact, precise things but at least on the lines of them.
We, as human beings are known to be career and goal oriented right from the beginning because it gives us the one thing that we deem necessary for survival: money. And however true this might be or not, some part of us is materialistic and yearns for things that we don’t or can’t have. However in this tedious process of figuring out what to do and struggling to do it, we also find ourselves not being able to resist the need to be with someone.
That meaning, career or not, we are by birth, programmed to fall in love or get attracted to other people, which ultimately forms a major part of our life. Its the time we spend with this person, either traveling extensively with them or even living with them that change or develop us an individual, letting us grow, given experiences, for the better. Sometimes the line between managing a career and one’s love life is tough but ultimately one learns to do it anyway. This because though financial security is important, love is necessary. Therefore, it’s not wrong to be focused or dedicated towards your career, however, we must also make time for love and make sure we give enough time to that person, and genuinely. Most times, the presence of a person in your life will also make a huge impact on your work and make you a whole.
Sometimes you might get lucky and it might really happen. And when your partner sees the best in you and inspires you to do better, you actually begin go. Therefore, the age long debate between love and career will always be there, as long as there are humans too lazy to live up to one.

But it takes a wise person to see both sides and get the best out of both.
