Rebound relationship and how can you find out if you’re his or her is doing it.

Someone has rightly said, “Sometimes you may fall in love with the most unexpected person at the most unexpected time”.

If this situation somewhat fits on you, then you are most likely to be entangled in a rebound relationship!

Go on and ask yourself: Am I in a rebound relationship?  Am I the victim? Am I being used by my partner as a rebound? OMG, the thought itself is so scary and frustrating!

Well, getting into a rebound relationship might be a insanity but we watch them happening all over around us.

When can rebound happen?

Rebound relationships can happen when one of the partners tries to use the other one just as a substitute to overcome the pain of the previous heartbreak. But if you yourself are the victim of the rebound relationship, then beware! You are in danger situation.

Reasons behind the Rebound relationships

A substitute to heal the heart

We are social animals and none of us wants to remain single for a long time. But unfortunately when heartbreak happens, the victim is deeply hurt and he/she either wants to get rid of the painful memories or keep on churning them. Furthermore, He/she starts seeking a pacifier who can soothe the heartache. And thus the rebound relationship can happen when you start dating a person who may open his/her heart pain to you and seeks solace in you after heartbreak.

His/her Recent Breakup

Find out, if your partner has recently gone through a break-up. People tend to seek a shoulder to mourn for their pain. They might be expressive or they might not be expressive about the breakup episode till they get healed emotionally. You might end up only as a bridge of substitute until this person overcomes his sea of sorrow

More physical and less emotional

Secondly, do you feel the intensity and mental bonding in your relationship? Or is it just the physical need that brings both of you together? Does your partner prefer for physical closeness rather than building a mutual emotional bond, then obviously you are in a danger zone.

One way affair?

Do you see the twinkle and super excitement in his/her eyes when you both meet or it’s mostly a one-way affair from your side to spice up the dating? Does he/she try best to make you happy or is least bothered to think about your happiness and is self-absorbed?

Does she/he irritates you with old romance stories

You want to have the lovey-dovey talk and your partner keeps on harping about the virtues of his/her previous date every now and irritates you. And ends up every conversation comparing you with his/her ex. This is definitely an alarm for you.

Exhibits you intentionally

If your partner displays more closeness and intensity between you two and tries to make his/her ex jealous, then it is also an alarming signal for you.

Social Media check

A social media platform can be a mirror to understand someone’s social or personal behavior. Do check out what is his/her latest status on social media or likes or latest pics and the posts. You might get clues to analyze them.

Your gut feelings matters

Your partner might be quirky at times. He/she might not so contented about your behavior or your look and may constantly nag you. Or might be too irrelevant with your looks. Both extremes cannot be ignored.

Your resemblance to his/her Ex

If your looks resemble with your partner’s ex, it’s again a red signal. It simply means your partner is still obsessed with his/her ex and seeks that person in you.

A Casual inquiry with friends and family

You can inquire casually with your common friends or with his/ her family or friends. You may directly talk to your partner if he/she is equally serious for this new relationship or not?

Don’t waste time being fooled

Ultimately it’s your call to decide the best for you. You need to do introspection and ask yourself if this person is really worth for you. Are you ready to become his or her rebound? Or move on happily for a better option.
