How should a rapist be treated in Society?
Rape. Not only is it highly violating a woman’s right over her own body but also an act of utter shame on the part of the men who are a part of it, either by voicing their unnecessary opinion about how it is a woman’s fault or supporting it.
What could possibly be the correct treatment for the people who commit such a heinous crime in the first place?
There could be many solutions but only one appropriate one: the exact treatment that the girl had to go through by them.
How else do you expect the girl or her family, friends, relatives to ever come to terms with the fact that their loved one was unduly taken advantage of and if there is any such thing as justice, this could be the first step towards it. It is only when such horrendous acts are committed by men that not only are woman left permanently scarred but also have to live the consequences and judgment succeeding this. How can we expect the person/people to fully realize the graveness of this act by them if they can’t even go through what they have inflicted upon a body far more physically weak then theirs? In a society where this has now become more often than we can imagine, unless such a tough punishment that not only makes the rapists feel guilty of what they have done, but also avoid future such incidents from occurring and therefore one day to completely wipe away its existence by ensuring a safe country for woman. A country where every woman does not feel ashamed to be one or has to think twice about saying/doing something that might lead her body to be violated in the most ghastly way possible. A country where the power of making the decision of what has to be done with such men who don’t think twice is vested in the power of the woman that it has occurred with. Only she fully knows what it is like to live with this fact, and inspire of it to successfully achieve in life so much that even others fail to do so, like so many victims have, till date. After all their physical strength was taken away, their emotional and mental strength broke barriers.
After all, how can anyone of us say rehab or continuously treating the accused with our hard earned money is going to be useful in any way unless it happens to us or our closed one?
