Relationship between Social World and Teens.
It all probably started off with you making an account on Yahoo Messenger some years ago or the naive you logging on to Orkut thinking it would be just another site you communicate with your friends on, little did you know that a few years later, you would soon become a victim of the Social world, and then find some solace in the fact that you’re not the only one. Astonishingly, it didn’t take time for us to go from being innocent 5th graders waiting for school to get over so we could play hide and seek or other outdoor games we probably don’t anymore in the evening to now preferring to spend all that time in front of our cell phones, Ipads, laptops, computers screens. Social world has done that to us. We now await the moment our favourite Youtuber uploads their next video, we await the moment our friend comes online so we can talk to him/her, we await the next song to be released so we can listen to it over and over again, we await the next time someone posts a picture so we could check it out and later discuss it, we await the moment we can download the next movie and watch it in awe. Most of our daily activities are not only related to the social world, but are possible because of it. This relationship of every teenager with the internet has reached a new low with the invention of Wifi, Now we want to be able to access the internet 24×7 even when we are outside, with our loved ones, staring at a screen that connects us with people around the world, not really bothering to spend time with the ones right in front of us. but that’s not entirely our fault. as times have changed, the things around have changed so drastically that it has become impossible for us to survive without the social world. Even our daily assignments or the work we do is dependant on it to a large extent. Take Communication: apart from the basic communication, we all have somewhere become a little lonely in our lives that we have become used to converse with someone as soon as an incident happens, ask for advice and reflect on it. all of our dreams, aspirations, goals are based on so much that we have read/seen online that has influenced our daily life to a maximum.
The relationship between Social world and teens is going pretty strong but we should remind ourselves to not get too serious.
