1. Inferiority complex
“That girl looks better than me” “That boy is better at soccer than me” “I might not do well” Each one of us have these thoughts in our mind as soon as we enter college. The feeling that some one else will be better than you and toy won’t be as good enough is normal for most students at the beginning of college. Even though we come into college with a lot of doubt about our self, this might ultimately change as time passes.
2. Expectations by parents.
Most of enter college with expectations bestowed upon us by our parents to do well and it is these expectations that lead is to fear and be worried about whether we will be able to succeed in them and not fail them. And it is exactly the moment that we enter college that we realize this fact.Some teens might take all the expectations in a positive way and strive to do well working hard towards it while others might not be able to take it. Competition is inevitable.
3. Intimidation.
Entering college and watching people our age get out of expensive cars, wear the outfits they do, communicate the way they do can be very intimidating for a lot of people in their first day. This is when students can be intimidated with and has an effect on students which leads them to be intimidated by this fact and not believe in thyself.
4. The want to be popular.
Each one of us while entering a new college want to be known. Known by our classmates, seniors and teachers. We want to be known and recognized by everyone and be able to show your talents and have people appreciate it, and when you’re known, it not becomes easier for you to continue to do what you aim to but also feels good. Hence, the want to be recognized prevails among a lot of students and on the first day when you see different people.
5. The impatient wait to bunk.
College! Let’s bunk! However excited we might be to attend college, we ultimately wait for college so that we bunk with our friends and enjoy college life. Therefore, after entering college the wish to bunk is prevalent among all students and most of the college goers look forward to this.
6. Judgmental people.
Even if not on the face, we have all been aware of that one judgmental person who will judge you on everything starting from cloth, money or to even a really small thing that is not relevant. Such people are snobs who night interact with the others but a certain group.
7. Monetary issues.
College, yes! Money, no! With entering college, comes the expectation to be spendthrift and being able to spend whenever your friends do. This might be possible for some amount of time but nit all the time and Therefore might pose to be a problem in the latter part of college life. This might be different for people who are able to afford it and won’t think twice before spending their money but moat individuals have a limited budget and have restrictions as to how much to spend.
8. Competition.
Each of us in competitive in some way or the other and set for ourselves some target that we aim to achieve. Ambition is present in all of us but some take it more seriously than the others and work way more them and spend more time in beating the other person.
9. Crushes.
As humans it is natural for us to be attracted to the opposite sex and developing an affinity for someone is not something you ask for, but will happen nevertheless. So it is highly plausible that you will be be fond of someone in college and develop feelings for him/her. Crushes are an imminent part of college life and can happen any time to anywhere.
10. Seniors.
An important part of college are the seniors that we come to interact with and become acquaintances or friends with. Seniors can be extremely helpful and friendly and help you in getting used to the college and give you intricate details about the college and extra information that you might not get. They are the unofficial guides to the college that will along with letting you in on the inner secrets also can become extremely great friends for a long, long time to come.
