You scream, I scream, we all scream for ice-cream!
Who doesn’t probably love ice-creams? With every sweet scoop filled with heavenly touch, ice-creams are loved by millions of people all around the world. With multiple flavors like vanilla, butterscotch and Belgium chocolate, it can be quite difficult to reject any proposal that comes with the frozen sweet touch. But this might not be the case with the following flavors.
Commemorating 146 years of ice-cream, here are some of the weirdest flavors that can make you think twice before trying out. Presenting you is the following list of the world’s weirdest ice-cream flavors.
● Crocodile egg ice-cream.
With chickens and their eggs being too mainstream, enter the “jaw”-y reptile in cuisine that too in the dessert section. This really strange flavor can be found in Sweet Spot Artisan Ice Cream in the Philippine Davo City. Bianca Dizon, the owner of the outlet claims the crocodile ice-cream to be more nutritious since it contains lesser cholesterol. She further says that the eggs of the crocodile comprise of more protein as compared to chicken eggs. Nutritious or not, it’s really weird!
● Horseradish.
You might have tasted horseradish as a vegetable, but you might not have imagined it as an ice-cream flavor! Since the 1998 opening of Max’s and Mina’s in New York’s Queens, the owners-cum-brothers Bruce Becker and Mark Becker have produced 5000 flavors each being unique. Getting included in the list is the Horseradish flavor.
● Smoked Salmon.
Created and inspired by a customer’s suggestion, Smoked Salmon is yet another product from the house of Max’s and Mina’s. As the name suggests, this one is actually made from real smoked salmon along with cream cheese. Interesting try indeed!
● Cheeseburger.
Probably intending to give Max’s and Mina’s a stiff competition, Heladeria Coromoto, a popular ice-cream in Venezuela, offers a massive 800 strong menu. While flavors like calamari and corn seemed to have made a place, the one that gave a big push was the cheeseburger ice cream flavor. Blending burger meat, French fries, some cheese and their “secret ingredients”, Cheeseburger can definitely be a tryout in spite of being really unusual.
● Raw Horse Meat.
You can definitely amuse yourself with numerous attractions at Tokyo’s Namja Town. Or you can also indulge yourself in a massive ice-cream menu at Ice-Cream city. Intending to go a bit off steam, this parlor actually offers Raw Horse Meat along with few other unthinkable flavors like Cow Tongue, Octopus, and Squid.
● Sardines and Brandy.
Yet another strange flavor coming from the country of Japan as well as fro Puerto Rico, is the Sardines and Brandy ice cream flavor. Whether this product is rich in Omegas as it happens with Sardines or it gives you an instant boost like brandy, can be only known after tasting it. Good luck if you are planning to go ahead.
● Octopus.
Ben and Jerry’s have always been known because of their unusual kooky ice-creams. Probably discontented with flavors like Wasabi and Cactus, the duo actually went overboard with their octopus ice-cream which is also known as Taco Aisu.
