1. Stares.

2. Kidnapped.

When a girl of any age travels alone, she must know that at any point any man or men might frisk her away without she even being able to do anything at that exact moment and therefore she must be mentally prepared and make sure she tries to avoid such a situation as much as possible. Kidnappings has been going for decades now and though girls have been doing their best to they aren’t ones being kidnapped, extra precaution should also be taken.

3. Groping.

Appallingly enough, this does happen in many parts of the nation. Men are known to stoop incredibly low and then resort to this pathetic act of desperateness and grope any part of a woman, be it Indian or even a foreigner.

4. Stalking.

As soon as some men have noticed a girl, either at that very moment or even before, they begin stalking her and with that moment the girl begins feeling extremely uncomfortable and sometimes they even make her feel so, with cheap tactics. This is one problem faced by many Indian girls while traveling that at some point, there has been someone stalking he’d and making her feel immensely uncomfortable.

5. Dressing.

An Indian girl, especially feels very uncomfortable and weird while traveling alone in clothes that are otherwise considered revealing for the Indian public. Therefore In a Conservative country like India, a girl must be sure of what she wears and when as that might lead to a whole lot of new problems for her. Hence when alone, girls tend to dress ‘decently’ to avoid any attention.

6. Lies.

When girls travel alone, they face the huge problem of people lying to them. It might be directions, it might be information, it might the background of a person, but since the girl happens to be alone at that moment, she faces the fear of being lied to at all times.

7. Traveling during the night.

Girls have a major problem of risking their safety while traveling in the night, this especially when she tends to be alone. Not every girl can really defend herself in front of the physicality of a man and therefore, considering India and it’s particular behavior towards women, women tend to avoid traveling through the night or even if they do so, they are extremely careful in doing so.

8. Traveling in unsafe areas.

Places which do nor have many residents, abandoned places or places where there exists only the presence of men are basically the unsafe areas that a girl who is traveling on her own avoid. If she does have to pass through these areas then she has to take care that she carries a pepper spray or is physically prepared for any unforeseen circumstance.

9. Not traveling in a group.

The biggest problem of a girl traveling alone is that she does not travel in a group. This is because when the girl is on her own, this gives the men another chance to lurk behind her and her having to defend herself in front of them on her own, without anyone to support her or warn anyone.

10. Thieves.

When a girl is traveling to some place alone, thieves often see this as an opportunity and therefore they resort to stealing her jewelery, cash, etc. They know that being alone, she is in a moment of weakness and there is a high chance that she might not be able to defend herself and therefore while going somewhere alone, the risk of being robbed is very much prevalent.

11. Fear of being raped.

This is one of the most common and one of the most rampant fears, crimes that is present in our society in today’s age. A woman can’t travel to any ace she wants to without being assured that no man or men will lay a finger on her. This heinous crime of men towards women has picked up and inspite of repeated protests and awareness, a woman is now more afraid than ever to travel all by herself.
