10 upcoming cars worth waiting for in 2019

Uber-fast hatchbacks, luxurious sedans or sporty SUV’s– 2019 is going to be a promising year for automobile enthusiasts. Many companies are planning to launch either new models or new versions of the existing ones.

The first quarter of 2019 witnessed launch of Maruti Suzuki Wagon R, Toyota Camry Hybrid, Tata Harrier, Mahindra XUV 300, Honda Civic amongst the few.

Here is the list of 10 upcoming cars worth waiting for-

1. Hyundai QXi Venue

Expected Price: ₹ 8 – 12 L

Expected Launch: May 2019

SUV, Petrol and Diesel

Hyundai’s first-ever compact SUV that was known by its internal codename QXi, will now be called the Hyundai Venue.  It is referred as ‘Connected SUV’ as it comes with many connectivity technologies. 2.BMW X7

Expected Price: ₹ 80 L – 1 Cr

Expected Launch: May 2019

SUV

The X7 will be a seven-seater SUV– the biggest SUV ever made by BMW. It will come with a three-part panoramic sunroof and will get a twin 12.3-inch screen setup for the instrument cluster and infotainment display. Image Courtesy

3.MG Hector

Expected Price: ₹ 10 – 14 L

Expected Launch: June 2019

SUV, Petrol and Diesel

Morris Garages Hector, a midsize SUV will come with the option of both, petrol and diesel, powertrains – 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder engine and the Fiat-sourced 2.0-litre oil burner engine, respectively. 4. Hyundai Kona

Expected Price: ₹ 13 – 18 L

Expected Launch: June 2019

SUV, Electric(Battery)

Hyundai Kona is the first electric vehicle from the South Korean carmaker to be sold in India.

It will be imported in the country as a CKD (Completely Knocked Down) unit and will be available with two powertrain options that will include a 100kW (139PS) motor with a 39kWh battery pack and a 150kW (204PS) motor with a 62kWh battery pack. Image Courtesy

Expected Price: ₹ 15 – 18 L

Expected Launch: August 2019

Sedan, Petrol and Diesel.

The sedan is loaded with new tech and safety features. It will get state-of-the art safety features and the list includes forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitors, lane departure warning with active lane control, and a rear view camera with cross-traffic alert. 7. Kia SP Concept

Expected Price: ₹ 12 – 16 L

Expected Launch: September 2019

SUV, Petrol and Diesel.

Kia Motors is launching its first product in Indian market, the SP Concept. The SP Concept will be powered by 1.5-litre BSVI-compliant 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder petrol and diesel engines, which are expected to be offered with both manual and automatic transmissions. Image Courtesy

8. Audi Q2

Expected Price: ₹ 20-25 L

Expected Launch: October 2019

9. New Volvo S60

Expected Price: ₹ 35 – 42 L

Expected Launch: October 2019

It is speculated that the launch of the new S60 sedan will take place somewhere around in the last half of 2019. The sedan will only be launched in a petrol variant. 10. Mahindra eKUV100

Expected Price: ₹ 9 – 10 L

Expected Launch: November 2019

SUV, Electric

A 380-volt system which will be coupled with a 150-kW battery pack will provide power to the car. This amount of energy will provide a driving range of 250 kms. The car also comes with a fast charging option. Image Courtesy
