UP IN SMOKE
Tobacco-related diseases are some of the biggest killers in the world today and are cited as one of the biggest cause of premature death. It is no secret that smoking is an unhealthy habit. Even though we know about the dangers of smoking, it still haunts society. Researches show that smoking increases your risk for developing a number of diseases such as lung cancer, heart disease, cancer of the larynx, throat and many other ailments which might even result in death. It is also said that it smoking causes damage to ‘women fertility’. Another one of the perils of smoking is its influence on our appearance as it could bring about wrinkling of the skin, it can lead to stained teeth, darkened gums and bad breath. Apart from all this cigarette-smoking is a costly indulgence. Since an average pack of cigarettes is rather expensive and its price is still growing an ordinary smoker spends annually an enormous amount of money to maintain that unhealthy lifestyle and his needs. Besides, most of the smokers are prone to diseases therefore they may require medical treatment, which is not always free, more often thus they have to buy more medications. This money could have been spent on something more pleasurable and exciting like decent holiday for instance. So therefore smoking is just about one of the worst things people can do to their health, short of locking themselves in a cage of ravenous lions after rolling in steak sauce. The well-known effects are horrible enough. There is no high, no nicotine rush that is worth trading one’s life for. The havoc wreaked upon the physical health, financial security, and psyche of smokers is heinous enough to make any person who smokes think twice. So, if you have not quit yet, Today is the day to quit.
