Education: The Ticket To Fulfill Our Potentials
“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”
― Nelson Mandela
Education and learning is one of the most important processes in today’s society.
It was born with the birth of the human race and shall continue to function as long as the human race. Knowledge has always been represented by light and ignorance has been symbolized as darkness. Hence education, the key to all knowledge, dispels the darkness and ushers in the light. It is a gift of knowledge that cannot be stolen and can bring you to the top of your dreams. It is the continuous process of learning which broadens our mental horizons and along with it, our perspectives. It leads to the dissemination of knowledge, to breaking down of all mental barriers and to a greater realization of self worth and a better understanding of fellow beings. If a person is uneducated he cannot think for himself. He is forced to blindly accept the dictates of others and this makes him servile as he lacks the ability to judge right from wrong. Education is an essential human virtue.
Man becomes ‘man ‘ through education. He is what education makes him. It has been rightly said that without education, man is a splendid slave, reasoning savage. Education is an essential basis of good life. A man becomes a human being in the real sense when he is transformed from primarily an animal being into a human being through education. In short, education is an essential concomitant of all human societies. As John Dewey has rightly said, “Education is not a preparation for life; education is life itself.” Let us all pledge ourselves to stamp out ignorance and let us make education transport us, in the words of Tagore, to that “Heaven of freedom”.
