A Piece Of Peace.
There was once a king who offered a prize to the artist who could paint the most beautiful picture in the whole, wide world. Lots of painters from across many countries traveled long distances to take part in this competition and tried their luck. After much anticipation, It finally came down to two paintings. One, which was a beautiful picture of skies, a calm lake, birds flying over a few trees nearby which everyone was blown over by. The second picture, however had waterfalls gushing over the lake, birds chirping, men walking, animals moving, it was almost as if it was all happening at the same time. It was almost as if it was real. When asked how this depicted peace, he replied saying that “Peace does not mean being in a place of noise, trouble or hard work. Peace means to be amidst all these things and yet be calm in your heart.”
The story is a well known tale of how each of us perceive peace. It is a well known tale of how, human being over the years have known to be guided or misguided by their interpretations of things, especially a thing so difficult to attain such as peace. To have peace in your life is to have peace in your heart. To have peace in your heart is to be at peace with others. Its only when we are calm in our mind, words and heart, can we be fully peaceful with our surroundings and the people in it. Among-st all our daily, busy lives, we mustn’t forget to have the one part of our life dedicated to this extremely calming emotion that gives us a sense of responsibility over yourself and some much needed lonesomeness.
